Please contact your veterinarian directly if you feel that your pet may require specialty surgery.

Our goal is to make surgery as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Dr. Kahn and Dr. Horowitz, Anchor’s board-certified surgeons, build a direct relationship with your veterinarian prior to surgery. Prior to surgery, they will discuss your pet’s case, surgical candidacy, and establish the game plan.

Following surgery, your pet’s surgeon will contact you to provide a summary of the surgery and to review post-operative care.

When you come to pick up your pet from the hospital, you will receive discharge instructions detailing home care.

All necessary medications will be provided by your primary care veterinarian.

Please contact your veterinarian if you have any questions after surgery. Dr. Kahn and Dr. Horowitz will be available to your veterinarian to provide guidance with any post-operative questions or concerns.

What is a board-certified surgeon?

The American College of Veterinary Surgeons sets and applies standards to obtain board-certification status. They require years of additional training and examination after completion of veterinary school.
